Over the summer months of June and July, Iceland experiences almost 24 hours of sunlight. This means that golfers can go out and play golf whenever they feel, at any time during the day or night. Golfers are also able to play a round in the fall and even winter months. Iceland is home to many golf courses, including both eighteen-hole golf courses and nine-hole golf courses. Luckily, Hotel Rangá is very close to two excellent courses making it easy for our guests to play golf in Iceland.
The closest golf course to Hotel Rangá is located just five minutes away. Founded in 1952, Strandavöllur offers golfers a stunning view of mountains, glaciers, and Mount Hekla. The course is eighteen-holes and well-maintained. The weather in Hella is quite often mild and bad weather passes quickly. Check out the Strandavöllur webcam to see current weather conditions.
The eighteen-hole golf course on the Westman Islands is also stunningly beautiful and well worth a visit. This course was created in 1938, making it one of Iceland’s oldest golf courses. In fact, some of the original holes are still in use. Playing a round at the Westman Islands golf course is a great option for visitors to Iceland in the winter months. This is because the Westman Islands have a milder winter climate compared to other parts of Iceland.
