Our head chef, Bragi Þór Hansson, was only 17 when he left Garður, the tiny Suðurnes village he was raised in, to pursue a career in the culinary arts.
Starting out as a kitchen assistant in Reykjavík, Bragi’s talents soon took him to England where he gained valuable experience working in multiple fine dining restaurants, including one boasting two Michelin stars.
Upon his return to Iceland, he was recruited as an apprentice to Hotel Rangá. He became our Sous chef in 2017 and in Spring 2018 Bragi became our head chef.
Bragi’s favorite ingredients to work with are Icelandic lamb, reindeer, cod and fresh Icelandic vegetables.
