  • To See & Do

Hotel Rangá is perfectly located to discover everything South Iceland has to offer.

Nearby attractions include, to name just a few: The Golden Circle with the beautiful Gullfoss waterfall and the Geysir hot springs. The South Coast with Thorsmörk nature preserve, Skogarfoss and Seljandsfoss waterfalls, Skogar folk museum, Reynisdrangar pillars and nearby black sand coastline, Myrdalsjökull glacier, Vatnajökull glacier (Europe's largest glacier) and the world famous Jökulsárlón glacial lagoon. The South Shore offers attractions such as the Blue Lagoon spa, fishing villages, and the natural wonders of the Reykjanes peninsula. The world-famous volcano Mt. Hekla is clearly visible from Hotel Rangá's front door, and the close by Highlands attracts visitors seeking a peculiar lunar-type landscape, volcanic black-sand deserts, hot-springs, the colorful Landmannalaugar area, and the Thjórsárdalur Viking settlement farm. Off the South Coast, the Westman Islands, Iceland's largest fishing town, offers spectacular sites surrounded by mountains, seabirds and an extraordinary volcanic history.

Activities in South Iceland include golf, horse riding, super jeep tours, glacier tours, river rafting, whale watching, hiking, fishing, art exhibitions, museums, historical places, and many, many more. The front desk staff works with guests to help them discover all that Iceland has to offer.
