Hotel Ranga is a luxury countryside hotel and the only 4 star resort in South Iceland. It offers all the facilities and services of a modern resort. Located about an hour from Reykjavík between the towns of Hella and Hvolsvöllur, it lies just off the main road right in middle of South Iceland’s panoramic scenery. It provides  stunning picturesque surroundings, such as the famous volcano Mt. Hekla, several glaciers and the Westman Islands. The resort is built in log-cabin style and has through the years acquired an excellent reputation for its food, accomodation and service. Upon entering Hotel Ranga, you will be greeted by a towering 10-foot tall polar bear named Hrammur that resides in the lobby. Hótel Rangá was upgraded and renovated in 2007/2008 and presently has 51 luxuriously decorated rooms and Suites. It also features an acclaimed riverside restaurant, a lounge & bar, 2 upstairs meeting rooms, a game room, massage facilities and 3 much beloved outdoor hot tubs heated with geothermal water - where there is an excellent chance to view the fantastic northern lights during September through April.

Introducing The World Pavilion©

The stunning collection of seven suites comprising The World Pavilion© is a fantastic journey through all the corners of the world. Suites from all the continents - Africa, Australia, South America, North America, Asia, Antarctica and Europe (Iceland) are presented. Each individual room overcomes the challenging conquest of succesfully combining original design, architecture, ethnic art & craftmanship thereby displaying every continents distinctive features. Furniture, artwork, woodwork and decor are all authentic pieces - almost all derving from each respective continent. Six of these suites are situated on the second floor with stunning panoramic views and private balconies. The World Pavilion© was designed in 2007-2008 by Hotel Manager Björn Eriksson using vital input in cooperation with multifaceted expertise deriving from 15 countries. A stay here is sure to give a satisfying and unique experience, even for the most travelled of guests. You will almost certainly not find anything like this anywhere else.

It is also important to mention that all major construction has now been completed on the premises.

Iceland enjoys the unique resource of having large amounts of geothermic springs. The entire hotel is heated by this wonderful form of green energy. To bath in the naturally heated water is both refreshing and healthy. Hotel Ranga has 3 outdoor hot tubs heated with natural spring water, facing the river and accessible for all the hotel guests. We urge everyone to use them during their stay. The feeling of well-being is enhanced during wintertime by pristine cool air and enlightened by breathtaking northern lights above.

All areas in the hotel are non-smoking. Hotel Ranga is open all year around except during 4 days around Christmas. The hotel is equipped with all necessary conference material and there is also a free wireless internet connection throughout all of the premises for guests.
